Give your games, art, graphic designs, and/or other creative projects a truly distinctive and unique look by adding a splash of watercolor texturing!

Undine Ink is a texture pack containing 500 distinct textures suitable for many different 2D and 3D uses that have been provided in both seamless and non-seamless variants. In total, three different variants are provided of each of the 500 textures: seamless JPG, non-seamless (bounded) JPG, and non-seamless (bounded) PNG (for a total of 1500 image files). Download the corresponding archive files for which texture variants you want or need. The PNG package is much larger (~800 MB) than the JPG packages each are (~120 MB). All images are 1024x1024 pixels.

A small help document describing how the textures were made (so that you can match their style when/if needed for your use case) and giving some ideas for how to use and/or modify the textures for a few purposes is also included. Simply also download the "Undine Ink - documentation" archive if you want that extra info. That archive also contains a copy of the license agreement on this page as well.

All of the textures are hand-made by me, (not "generated"/stolen, not outsourced, etc) and are strictly 100% ethically produced, just like all other things I work on and create. They were all digitally painted one at a time using art software designed to emulate traditional media and more specifically (in this case) to simulate realistic watercolor diffusion on paper (akin to real-life watercolor ink or paint) so that they look and feel like the exotic experimental watercolor textures they are intended to.

The textures vary widely from just normal and relatively simple watercolor color splashes to very exotic and awesomely distinctive textures.

I had to use image operations to turn the non-seamless textures into seamless variants and so some images have some blurring around the edges of that process if you look closely, but the original lossless images are provided as PNGs so that you can create your own seamless variants if you don't like how one or more of the seamless ones I made look. More info on that process (if applicable to your use case) is available in the provided documentation.

Here's some examples of some great uses for these textures:

• surreal textures for 3D models, modified however suits your purpose
• fun/weird backgrounds for 2D scenes, such as "magic" or "dream" scenes
• fills for graphic design elements such as vector art or user interfaces or GUIs
• inputs for shaders to combine and operate upon to create fascinating and visually striking colorful effects, such as in a "shader graph" or custom shader
• as a component for building interesting "brushes" in some art software, so that you can create more color variation in your strokes (etc) more easily
• a gallery of inspiration for interesting combinations of colors and seeing the ways they sit and blend together, which is useful for ideas for color palettes (regardless of whether you are doing 2D or 3D work or a pixelated or realistic style)!
• website design elements, such as tiling backgrounds for different regions

This texture pack is designed to be highly unusual overall, so it is a great fit for any creative person looking to give their projects more visual distinction without having to spend tons of hours conceiving of and creating these yourself! Time is money and you'll save a lot more time this way, especially if abstract interesting interplay of color is what you're after! It's raw material to fuel your own colorful creativity, essentially!

License

This asset pack is proprietary, but with generous and benevolent terms, as follows:

1. The licensed material is granted to you per legal entity (i.e. per "team"), with you the purchaser as legal agent, such that it is not necessary to buy multiple "seats" of the license. Only one "seat" is required per legal entity (i.e. per "team").
2. The license is non-exclusive, meaning other people can buy and adapt the licensed material from me too and you cannot prevent them from doing so.
3. The licensed material may be used on a royalty-free basis, meaning there is no per-unit royalty or fee. This is standard for most publicly available asset packs.
4. You may use the material commercially and/or non-commercially, including parts of it in your own commercial products, as long as you do not do so in ways that closely compete with this product via a similar product (e.g. another texture pack) nor otherwise undermine my line of business and sustainability in any exploitive or unethical way.
5. The licensed material can be mixed and matched and altered and transformed to suit your purposes and needs, but not in ways that undermine my economic or moral rights or the sustainability and future of my business or creative work.
6. You are not required to attribute me, although it would be appreciated. However, on the other hand, you may not misrepresent the origin of the material and must also admit to where the material came from if legally or ethically consequential.
7. Under no circumstances may you upload or subsume any of the material into any kind of automated system capable of generating imitations of the material. You agree that algorithmic "training" on any part of this material is plagiarism.
